Duties and responsibilities:
Genetic counselors work with patients and families who have
genetic or inherited, disorders and birth defects.
- Educate patients and families about their condition.
- They inform them how they can manage their problems.
- Conduct research about genetic disorders.
- Genetic counselors educate medical professionals.
Average Salary: $25,000- $55,000
Educational requirements:
Students should take challenging high school curriculum that
emphasizes science and mathematics. Students should also have a master’s degree
and pass biology, chemistry, and behavioral science. Genetic counselors should
be certified.
I would want to a genetic counselor because I would like to
help patients and families. I think it’s a great job and its salary is great
too.
